Red tastes tart and fruity, it has a strong sweet and floral smell. It's incredibly flavorful, to the point of it tasting intense. The darker the red the more spicy and mildly bitter it tastes, while the lighter shades become more creamy and light. Bright reds taste most like cherry and rose, dark reds are taste of hibiscus with hints of red pepper, while the lighter shades are smooth strawberry yogurt.
Orange is sort a balance of bitter and sweet. The flavor is somewhat tame, with hints of acidity. It has a comforting flavor, and tastes very warm and balanced. The brighter colors of orange highlight it's fruity sweetness, while it's darker colors become more mild and bitter. The lightest colors have the strongest sweetness, but also taste more acidic. Bright orange tastes a bit like cinnamon but with some fruitier qualities, dark oranges have a similar bitter to sweet ratio as salted dark chocolate, and the lighter oranges are slightly sour and have that typical orange flavor.
Yellow is sharp and the most sour, it has less of a flavor and more of a sensation to it. No matter the shade, it tingles in your throat as it goes down. It's fizzy and incredibly acidic, the bright colors almost burn your mouth, thankfully the other shades or more digestible. Bright yellow is almost flavorless, consisting of nothing but sour burning and intense fizz. Dark yellows are the most balanced of the bunch, much less sour and a bit less fizzy and adds a mildly floral flavor. Pale yellows are less fizzy but more sour, it has a sweet, candy-like after taste.
Green is mostly neutral tasting. It has an earthy flavor similar to chlorophyll or matcha. It can have a tinge of sweetness, but it's mostly overpowered by a more grassy taste. Bright greens taste the most intense and very earthy, like a smoothie made of spinach, chlorophyll, and a few berries for sweetness. The darker greens are sweeter, more similar to matcha esc flavor. The light greens are the most mild, but lose almost all of the sweetness in the process, it almost just tastes like grass.
Cyan is very hydrating, it's sweet but not incredibly so, and other than that it reminds a bit tasteless. Bright shades bring the sweetest flavor, it's a bit shocking since it has nothing to balance out with, but at the same time tastes a bit diluted. It's sweetness is not very fruity, but not artificial either, the sweetness is more akin to sugar cane. Bright cyan is sweet with a subtle mineral flavor, it's a little fizzy as well, it's dark shade is the most intense with it's mineral flavor and it's sweetness become a bit more earthy, the lighter cyan is the most fizzy and almost too sweet.
Blue has a very deep, fruity flavor. It's flavors is very berry like, and is incredibly fruity and sweet. Bright blue's taste like a variety of berries, mainly raspberry, blueberry, and a hint of blackberry. Dark blue has an overwhelming taste of blackberries, but also an added hint of pineapple. Pale blue has a flavor of blueberries and bananas and is the most mild.
Purple has the most floral flavor on the list. Bright purple tastes strongly of lavender, dark purple taste like ginger with the slightest hint of black liquorice, and light purples are the sweetest and have a mild grape-like flavor, but are still mostly floral tasting.
Magenta has the most artificial flavor, it's incredibly candy-like and extremely sweet. A vibrant magenta has an intense and varied flavor, it tastes like if you covered a bunch of Trolli gummy worms (minus the green-orange ones) in pink and white nerds. The darker magenta tastes more like fruit punch, and the pale magenta is almost like a slightly fruity cotton candy flavor.
Let me know if there are any flavors you disagree with/want to add on to
This is just my personal opinion of how colors would taste, I'm sure most of you have different ideas on it and I'd be happy to hear :3
