I've been playing the violin longer than I'd admit. And just now, in a time when I just feel like I want to lay down and stare at the ceiling, people keep asking me whether or not I want to continue. Whether or not I want to continue to take lessons. I don't know how to feel about it because even though I've been feeling disconnected to it...I feel bad. How am I supposed to stop "pursuing" something that I've been doing for years? I'm being encouraged to stop, because people have been noticing that I'm disconnected, but I'd still feel like I'm letting them down.
Just wanted to let that out.

This is so relatable. I've been writing and drawing for as long as I can remember but I definitely hit plateaus where I feel like I just can't do it anymore. I think one of the best things you can do is to take a break from it and give yourself time to recuperate. Once you're in a better spot is when you stop and ask yourself if this is something you want to keep doing or not. Either way it is totally okay. Dropping a hobby or passion doesn't mean that you've wasted your own time or that you've lost any sort of skill or talent. We grow and change as people. it's okay to move on from something that you used to love. There's a world of other hobbies waiting for you out there if that's what you choose to do! Best of luck :)
