Alright so i saw a forum post about this (hello Steph, it was urs) and, i was gonna answer there, but im going in DEPTH and i didnt wanna clog up their forum sigh. But I basically have a doctorate in creepypasta/slenderverse atp (ive been here for a decade help) so I HAD to CLOCK TF IN. I am so qualified for this, you can trust me. I do not own any video or playlist (unless explicitly stated otherwise), this is purely a resource hub, in a sense.

A lot of people in the aforementioned forum and also just what ive seen in general have only been recommending things that get you to just read/listen to the stories (like podcasts n stuf), but im gonna give you things to get into the actual FANDOM (since the post mentioned how to get into creepypasta and the slendermansion, and it is 99% fandom. Like, the stories are just the skeleton, but you need the meat of it too, which is the fandom activity)
Anyway, you have to actually consume the stories first, and when I was younger, what got me into it was watching Jordan Persagati (he basically draws the characters while telling the story, and I js really liked his art). Podcasts never really interested me cus I didnt really like purely auditory media at the time (I mean, I was like 7 so its to be expected). However, you can consume the stories however you'd like. If you like podcasts, go for it. There's also, like, a few Draw My Life style vids but ive never really watched those and dk if theyre factual or not. And there are definitely just reuploads of the literal story that can probably be easily found if pure reading is ur thing. All this is to say there are MANY ways to consume the stories and not just one.

Okay, so you know all of the "main characters", so to speak, Now what ૮꒰ •̯́ ༝ •̯̀˵꒱ა ?? Well, since the catalytic forum specifically mentioned the slendermansion, imma assume you want to get into the fandom space past just the stories, which i will get into now ૮꒰˶ᵔ ᗜ ᵔ˶꒱ა !!!
To start, it should be known that Creepypasta as a FANDOM was really popular in the 2000-2010 eras. Like, early internet. (There have been minor resurgances so far through the 2020s, but nothing that really sticks). And, honestly, I feel like its better to get into this fandom by interacting with the older content first. This is because the creepypasta fandom is very different to typical fandoms BECAUSE there is very little "Canon content" of anything. Its made by the people, for the people. Its all just very popular OCs and headcanons at the end of the day, and these OCs and HCs and every single fandom joke have had things built on them throughout the years. You have to start with the ancient texts or youll get more confused than a fart in a fan factory ૮꒰˶ - ˕ -꒱ა
So, sites that have been around for a long, long time, and especially ones that were exceptionally popular then are your best friend. Sites like YouTube, Tumblr, Quotev, Wattpad, DeviantArt etc. Amino was big, as it was with all fandoms, but its no longer a thing. You can try to access pages through the Wayback Machine or other archiving sites, but I dont think its really worth it, personally. To understand amino, you had to be there.
Lets start with YouTube. Past the stories, the main content here is cosplay, animation or even comic dubs, as that was where the fandom leaned toward for a long time.

Its very easy to find content on Tumblr and DeviantArt, as a lot of it is just fanart, so i won't link anything specifically.
Now, we can get into fanfiction. That's what a good chunk of creepypasta content is going to be. Creepypasta is, like, the one fandom where I'd say quotev and wattpad has some decent fics, but ao3 is def good too, however, it WILL have a lot more extreme and taboo topics. Tumblr has some very fun askblogs and mini comics, both old and new, the fics there are freaked out tho so do with that what you will.
My amazing twin, Cas, gave me a list of good fics, since that is her, like, expertise. Anyway, I dont have the best idea on good fics to start with, ive been in the fandom for so long that its hard to gauge when smth like that is beginner friendly or not, and when I was first getting into the fandom, I was NOT on the ff side of it fr, but they always have been locked into it. Note 1:
- I see people recommending marble hornets and everymanhybrid a lot to people trying to get into creepypasta, and ill say this rn—those are really really good series', but they aren't creepypastas. they're slenderverse series', and they arent at all the same vibe, and they largely get treated as separate entities besides the fact that both have to do with slenderman. Id honestly recommend watching them later on and not immediately.
Note 2:
- Nothing that involves "hoodie" or "masky" in any backstories you read/listen to are true. Those are Marble Hornets characters that the creepypasta fandom essentially "adopted" and gave generally made-up lore to. They are not proxies in their Canon. However, do not listen to purists who shit on anything that involves them in creepypasta content. Not all of it is bad. It is js a very popular hc that, after the events of Marble Hornets, the two became proxies in some way or another.
Note 3:
- There are some creepypastas that are seen in the fandom and some that are not. Generally, if the basic idea surrounding a pasta is What If This Childhood Place/Character/Game Was Fucked Up And Evil, than its likely not going to be very prevalent in the fandom, with the exception of BEN Drowned and Lost Silver. That and anything that does NOT focus on a mentally ill teenager becoming a serial killer.
Note 4:
- I won't link it since its very easy to access, but the Wiki is also a big source of info, however, like most people say about any Wiki on the internet: Be Wary. Those things are genuinely riddled with misinformation, especially the creepypasta ones since this whole fandom at times is one big game of telephone. Nothing except the base story and anything found on creator accounts (if you find any) can be trusted as canon.
Note 5:
- In recent years, say, 2020 and onward, the creepypasta fandom has split in two in a way I haven't really seen prior, that being the divide between "canon" and "fanon". Essentially, canon fans try and make things more adult or gritty, and fanon keeps it more Lighthearted. Or... thats how its painted as. Usually, people that harp on what is canon are just people who want to be overly edgy for the sake of "realism". A prime example i see often is making characters like Jeff the Killer or Ticci Toby into abusers or rpists or Laughing Jack into a pdf. They spread just as much misinformation as fanon fans, if not worse bc its in a more harmful way, bc nothing like that is canon at all. Im only mentioning this bc a lot of the "canon" fans tend to be newbies who got into the fandom recently but cant handle cringe. Do not be the person headcanoning JTK as a rpist ૮(¬`‸´¬)ა

Note 6:
- Far too many creators are problematic, both OG writers and new fan creators. Its almost too many to keep up with. My advice is to just not get too attached to newer creators and to just disconnect the characters with their og writers (bc all of them either, one, dont want to be associated with the character anymore or, two, are problematic). There are two very popular fan creators id advise to stay away from, tho
- Dangerbizz (their on tiktok, Tumblr, and yt. Maybe others idk) - they befriended and defended a predator, and is openly friends with a racist.
- Bloodplague (hes mainly on tiktok) - the racist friend. Has called himself Hitler and made many racist jokes (defended himself by saying hes from Germany and its normal there). Im pretty sure he has done blackface as well.
- But, be not discouraged, there are good creators !!!
- Sereitonin on tt and Tumblr is really good n everybody should watch her !!!
- Same with imcryingintheclubdhmu AKA Babs on the same sites !!!
Along with this, past all of the content ive mentioned here, there are tons of newer content, and its relatively easy to find, such as newer animation series', new stories, and even visual novels !!! The older content is just a very big part of the fandom and is the backbone for a lot of the content now, but thats not all there is ૮˶˃𐃷˂˶ྀིა This is JUST meant to be an introductory course to get people familiar with the characters and the fandom behavior. (It should be noted, however, that im not saying you HAVE to watch ei8.glitter-graphics.org iverything from this post, pick and choose. Theres something in this fandom for everyone !!!)
