Hunger Games and what people didn't understand

Disclaimer: I will be talking about being against celebrities/ rich people, the Epstein files and how the hunger games is based on real life. I'll try not to make this too long, because otherwise this'll be as long as all of The Hunger Games books together.

I saw a tiktok video of someone doing a quiz to see which district they would be in- based on personality and not based on- what it is in the book, which is based on state in America. Panem is America. District 12, for example, is around Appalachian Mountain villages, online you can find literal maps that show where the districts would be, Appalachia is also known for being a very poor area. So yeah, personality quiz to see how poor you are in a world based on real life, it rubs me the wrong way and it's basically represented in The Hunger Games itself. For example; the scene where two little kids were fighting eachother with toy weapons because they were a fan of The Hunger Games as a reality tv show, those people who do quizzes on which district they're in, are fans of The Hunger Games as movies and books. Which they say before looking at the news and seeing the same thing happen in real life or starting to happen in real life. But anyways, back to the tiktok video I saw, I saw people saying "it's not that deep" (which is the stupidest sentence you could ever use in an argument btw, like, get out if you use that) or "what if you don't live in Europe", like, why do you wanna roleplay as a suffering person, character building and fan fiction is alright, but genuinely wanting to be a part of that world like you're not already in it, is wild.

Let me just make a list for you, dear reader, on what is parallel to real life, in the hunger games:

  • districts lining up to see if they live (barely) another day or die trying in the games = holocaust
  • the parties and shit the Capitol has while the districts are still suffering = met gala, celebrity charity events (ah yes, saving the world one chocolate fountain at a time),
  • President Snow = Donald Trump
  • The hunger games would've started this year
  • Finnick being SA'd and sexualized (who people irl sexualize which is insane) but brushed over = Epstein files, how quickly people forget about things like this

There is so much more, and saying "it's not that deep", doesn't make you correct. I think saying something is "not that deep" is the most dangerous excuse someone could make. Using your brain isn't hard. READ MORE BOOKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyways, figure it out yourself.
