hunter for a lonely heart

i don't know why i like victoria legrand so much even though i claim i know why... like yeah she's in beach house, i like her voice, i like her style (most of the time but shes made a few lame ass fashion choices), i think she's beautiful, i agree with most of what she says (except for when she says beach house started out broke LMAO they were never broke broke baby you just DIYing), she's mostly down to earth and also she's funny? but what even warrants this much love for someone i don't know? there really is something about her i guess.

also, a fan in the beach house server met her after the nashville or knoxville show this week and she was calling them "sweetie," signing things with cute little messages... damn. that signed setlist was really nice. she wrote "hi sweetie, thank you for being with us" with a heart on the I, a heart on the end, and her "V. Legrand" signature with a tiny smiley face doodle. eeee how cute is that??? also that fan said they beat the aftershow crowd by the tour bus (which beach house doesn't really answer to anymore for safety ESPECIALLY IN THE US) so thats why she was so nice. victoria also grabbed that setlist for the fan  herself. it was the last one.

beach house rides in a van though (fan at the pittsburg show got a pic of them after they waved while driving off) so now i'm confused about the tour bus part. its a little three person band + one driver so they probably just have their gear n such in the tour bus and just ride around in the van between shows that are kinda close together. i always thought artists like them kinda live in the tour bus unless they rent a hotel room and then have a huge truck or trailer with their stuff. beach house is kinda in the middle ground between a big popular band with copious amounts of gear and a small less popular band so who even knows. i've only seen how the really small ones and the really big ones operate. i bet the van is for short trips and the bus is for long trips or something like that.

god but anyways back to victoria. i think i vaguely knew who she and alex were when i was a freshman in highschool but then got really into beach house in sophomore. they were the second band i actually got into. i tell people it was mcr, but mcr was actually the third. the first band i really got into was mother mother but the beach house obsession lasted twice as long and probably twice as strong. maybe it was something about the mystery of a woman who's face is almost always obscured by darkness on stage. something about the second love got me going too. second chances always feel the best. then the third comes, and its just the same thing again unless there's something really remarkable like mcr. liking musicians feels the same every time, aka just "yay music," and then there's victoria. the muse who doesn't even know shes your muse. ew that sounded creepy, i meant shes the inspiration and the foundation for a lot of creative stuff i do. and like she knows shes inspiring, i hope?? and i think in a very beach house way to the point where i bet they could take my diary and turn random sentences into a beach house song.
