I can't do well in my homework

The topic I'm seeing right now is the 8 heads theory, and for some reason the pictures I have to analyze don't have 8 heads, they end up into 9 or more and I can't tell what's wrong with the pictures. My partners said that's bc of the inclination of each pose that makes it difficult, but I still can't understand how to calculate the heads properly, someone have any tips?
