theres so much nuance to why they do what they do, and its honestly at times skillful representation of mental illness in children, especially teenagers. I get how they can sometimes weird u out or do/say icky things, but i feel like there way too much character in them to just be like "yup gamzees evil" "i hate vriska shes so horrible" like idk

I can never hate any of them, especially the trolls. While I don't agree with most of their actions, I can understand how their environments heavily influenced their toxic behavior. I mean, alternia quite literally encouraged caste violence under The Condesce.
This is not to excuse anything the trolls did, they are very terrible to each other and to the kids. But I feel like we can acknowledge their terrible actions and hold them accountable while also realizing that their society shaped them.
Though I don't get how people can dislike the human kids. Yes, they can be a bit annoying at times but genuinely hating on them? I've noticed a huge spike in Jade hate particularly on TikTok and it makes me so mad.
