I don't know what to call this

Okay, so this one is related to my last post about maybe switching back to in person school after homeschooling for a few years, and I've decided I'm gonna talk to my mom about going back after this school year, but I need help with something else now. How am I supposed to bring it up and actually ask her? Like, I feel like the only way to say it is to be direct, but when am I supposed to bring it up? I don't know. I've been pondering on this for way too long and I know I need to just go ahead and do it but I don't know how and when. And another thing is I'll probably end up going to a public school which makes this even scarier, cause I did go to in person school up to 7th grade and then started homeschooling in 8th, but it was a private school, a very shitty one but it was still a whole lot smaller than most public schools in my area. Like, when I say small, I mean small. There was only about 40-50 kids in each grade. So, switching from that to a public school sounds terrifying. Which, thankfully, I live in a smallish town so even a lot of the public schools aren't like humungous, but it would still be a really big change and it makes a pit form in my stomach just thinking about it. Okay, I think that's it. I got a little off topic but any advice is greatly appreciated.
