hot take, but i’m not really a fan of project sekai. i tried it once and i think the fact it felt so clean just turned me off of it. i also don’t really like a lot of the newer vocaloid songs, so .. maybe that’s why? a lot of the newer or more popular producers nowadays feel so corporatised and dare i say sterile. it doesn’t have the same charm and warmth and life to it anymore. i’m not trying to be pretentious and say that it’s inherently bad Because it’s new; that’s not the problem. there’s so many good new songs. i just don’t like it when it feels less like craft and art and more like corporate/business “voca-slop.”
not to mention the fandom. i don’t like the fandom. i think that part is decently self explanatory. _:(´ཀ`」 ∠):

frrr. i got the japanese release back in 2021 cus i thought it was a new entry in the project diva series lol. i have the english one on my phone now simply if i wanna smash the hell outta my screen to some OG pjd songs. kinda love the format of touchscreen rhythm game for vocaloid but the whole group thing is odd. like yeah the stories are well written but some ppl gotta take it easy. im just here for the songs, dont ask who my fav character is lmao
you get it. if they came out with a bare bones vocaloid game with just the maps and the songs, i’d be down for it in a second. i also just wish they would do more with the other vocaloid characters and not just crypton’s favourites lol. we already had project diva for that. and on your point about groups i also never understood the whole .. making original characters thing? idk. it threw me off.
