I finally cracked my biggest childhood mystery

Hiii, Bora again, I don't know why Kururu won't post on here 

Today I wanted to share something that I hold very close to my heart. I discovered the Night Series when I was a kid, a series of 4 vocaloid songs telling a story, but I never really understood what was going on in those songs. They didn't really make any sense to me and everything seemed to be a little all over the place (and tbh I never really tried to look it up for myself...)

Anyway, a few days ago I start listening to the night series again, obsessively so (ever lasting night is the best btw), I read the lyrics etc but I still can't understand anything for the life of me, so what do I do? I finally decide to look up the lor. It took me years to do so but better late than never, right?

So I click on the first reddit link I see providing an explanation and that's when I find out there's a whole manga written by hitoshizuku about the series? And maybe a novel too idk honestly I only managed to find the first volume of the manga and two other translations but the translations were full blown novels so I don't really understand what's going on anyways.

And that's when I finally started understanding the lore. Of course most of it was still really obscure because genuinely I don't know who came up with the scenario but it's really confusing, I had to read another super long thread on deviant art (who even uses deviantart anymore? to be fair the thread was last edited in 2018 so...)

There's probably a bunch of things I misunderstood and another bunch I straight up didn't understand, but at least I can now sleep soundly knowing I (partly) uncovered one of my childhood's biggest mysteries.

With that said if anyone else can provide an explanation for me I will gladly take it because genuinely what is that story?

Also I think the scenario could've been better but that's just my opinion. Also ranking of the songs from best to worst (though they're all peak, probably the best songs ever fr fr)
