i hate lana del ray stans

Nobody talks about how irritating it is to not be able to interact with media you enjoy because of the fanbase. When i say i hate lana stans i dont mean if you like her music i dont like you, i love lanas songs and i thing shes an amazing, beautiful artist BUT every time i interact with a post on tumblr, twt, tiktok, literally anything, my feed gets bombarded with content made by other teenage girls who crave gross age gaps and are obsessed with girl interrupted (another great piece of media i cant interract with :c ). Im not saying that it's completely avoidable; every fandom has it's bad side. It's just annoying having to navigate the internet trying to avoid these fans. Another thing that is for some reason attatched to the lana del ray, coquette, girl-hood aesthetic is eating disorders. As someone who has struggled with an ed it is SO hard to recover in this day and age. The amount of posts i got on my tumblr feed of paper thin models and mood boards with black coffee and cigarettes after i liked ONE post of a cutesy girlblog was insane. I even filtered tags like #lanadelray, #hellisateenagegirl, #angel🪽🪽 etc. I just hate how it's been so normalised to associate girl hood and relatable teenage girl posts with this strange side of the internet that just feeds into eachothers struggles.

anyways, istg if i open tumblr and theyre still there im going insane bye bye (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)

GIRL THANK YOU. no one ever wants to look her lyrics or music videos in the face, either. the woman blatantly romanticises s3xual abuse and disgusting young girl/old man bullshit. the whole coquette aesthetic surrounding it pushes that narrative as well as what you guys said, the whole ed fetishism and wrongful stereotypes of what girls should be. even though i’m not one, i have a fucking lot of thoughts about how she presents her art and how it influences her fanbase. lock me in a room with lana del rey and taylor swift and give me a loaded gun, i’m shooting myself twice.

I hate the coquette “I’m just a girl” aesthetic so much. Not only is it deeply annoying but it’s also problematic!

yes thank you!!! it just turns the whole concept of being a girl into "im sad and crave attention but also cute and pretty lolololol"
