I have a bone to pick with YouTube's recommendation feed.

This is going to be a bit of a short rant, but why is YouTube's recommendation feed so fucking bad? I've deadass had a problem with this shit for so long, and I seriously don't get it. Where do I even start?

I get so many videos of shit I don't want almost all the time, or just gruesome or disgusting videos, and I'm like, “When do I ever watch this shit?” Y'all know it's based off of your search history, and what you watch, but I don't watch half of the shit that I'm recommended. It's like, “Yo, this shit is so backwards,” lol.

For example, I quit this game called Overwatch for a long time. I just wanted to not see content about it or be reminded of it because that game is fucking garbage, and I hate it. Even when I press “Do not recommend channel,” “Not interested,” or “I don't like the video,” I still get those types of videos, even though I'm not interested in it. I even tried to clear some of my search history to dodge it, but still, it's just fucking stupid. It's crazy that you have to dodge the content that you don't want to see like the plague for a long time in order for it to disappear, but even then, there's still a chance of it showing up on your feed. You have to drastically alter what u watch to change your feed or wait months for that shit to disappear. It's fucking irritating. I don't understand why can't this billion-dollar corporation just improve on this or fix this when there are so many people complaining about it online? It's weird.

Mind you, I mostly watch YouTube on my TV almost every day. I know there are some extensions on the browser that you can use, but even then, I find those to be very tricky to use. I'm still trying to be on the lookout. Most of them do require you to have a subscription for them, which is just ridiculous in itself, but I don't really use YouTube on my laptop that much, so it's not really a priority for me, but still Why hasn't YouTube implemented a more advanced way to control your feed/algorithms, like having a keyword filter or having a system that actually listens to you if you don't want to see a certain kind of content (kind of like how TikTok or Instagram works, in a way, where you can block hidden words or kinds of videos from showing up on your feed, and it actually works)? If YouTube is such a big platform, why hasn't this been done yet???

That's all I got to say. Thank you.
