I love boats with all of my SOUL. I’m so surprised that I’ve not researched any different types of boat with how much I adore them.
I love going on boats and seeing how fast we’re going, feeling my skin turn numb in the lovely cold, feeling my hair get pulled and thrown by the wind around me as the blue depth engulfs my mind. I think I have some sort of spiritual connection with 17-1800s Antarctic and Arctic expeditions (specifically Antarctic ones but arctic might be included too) and I am being so genuine when I say that. I have never felt more spiritually, deeply in tune and understood than the moments where I have been in a boat. I think museums and Scottish cities/towns at night give me the same wave of belonging, especially the latter environment. I could talk about my spiritual beliefs around this more but I’d sound like a lunatic and this is a positive blog
I just… feel so connected to them. The whole entire feeling of it. It feels like I am truly with myself, my surroundings are me and I am the surroundings. If you are ever travelling the cold sea, and your face grows cold in the frozen air and songs begin to play in your mind and you feel as if you could stay, staring out into the abyss forever, then you have experienced my bliss and, in a more spiritual way, you have experienced me. I cannot explain how I feel in these types of places. I feel as if my soul is expanding to reach to what is mine and my body cannot handle it, and so I am left frozen… the best example of this is when I had to leave an old cathedral due to feeling such a strong energy inside of it. It’s like a silent, enthralling mania, a connection deeper than what I can experience with any human. Maybe I am the cold winds, maybe I am the lapping waves, maybe I am the explorer looking out to them in discovery. Maybe I am all of them at once.
