Cooler temperatures are finally here, and it’s only a matter of time before I have to bring my plants inside. I gotta figure out somewhere to put these guys. My Monstera had so much growth this year. That thing’s gonna come through the door before I do.
It’s been raining for two days. Oh man, I love it. I love the humidity, that soft feeling in the air, the way everything gets a little deeper in color. The plants are getting juiced up, the birds are getting a drink. The whole place feels like it’s taking a nice, long breath.
And cooler weather means more pockets. Man, I love pockets. I need to put some in the shirts that don’t have enough. Little places to put things and then forget where you put them.
Anyways, the holidays are around the corner. I’m trying to get prepped. My oldest is getting married at the end of this month, and I’m flying up to the Pacific Northwest. Gotta pack my stuff and get my mind ready, too.
It’s kind of strange, thinking about my kid not having my last name anymore. I never really considered that part. One day you’re raising your kid, and then you’re packing for their wedding. And now I’m gonna have to hang out with my son in law's parents? Oh my gosh. Here we go.
I’ll be up there for a week, hanging out and hopefully getting some good pictures. Gotta go to Stark Street Pizza when I’m in Portland. Man, I love that place. I hope it tastes as good as it does in my head. Go up to Seattle a little, head over to Eastern Washington. Back down for some more time in Portland, maybe hang out in Troutdale, get over toward Mount Hood and Sandy. A little rain, a little wandering around. It’s gonna be great. Gotta find somebody to watch my kitties, too.
Right now, though, this morning feels good. Everything’s watered, the leaves are shining, and the sun has this beautiful quality coming through the damp air. Makes you want to stand there a minute and let it happen. Man, it’s gonna be a good day. I can feel it.
