I read a wikipedia page on man-eating tigers lately.

a surprisingly large number of people have been killed by tigers throughout history. tens of thousands have been reported. used to be much worse in the 19th century. every year 50 people get killed by tigers even today. that's roughly the amount of people that get killed by tornadoes. tigers are nasty creatures. they don't know how to do anything but kill. they kill anything that moves. humans, crocodiles, other tigers, they don't care. tigers are cunning and ruthless. you won't even see the tiger or know it's stalking you. they don't tend to hunt humans, though. they only do it in cases where they're physically unable to hunt their natural prey. a few tigers were infamous for having killed hundreds of humans. the problem is that once they do it a couple times, they begin to think it's a viable alternative and they make a habit out of it, thus becoming "man-eaters". when this happens they will hire people to hunt down the tiger so that it does not become a repeat occurrence. still, people in india seem to accept that every now and then a human will just randomly get yanked into the forest brush and eaten alive. did you know that a tiger is so physically strong that the force of it's swipe alone can break the bones of a wild boar? reported to be around 10,000 lbs of force. that's several times stronger than a professional baseball player swinging a bat. although I don't know if tigers are going around karate chopping things. they ought to, so I should think they do.
