I was just on a site, and there were several people vouching for this mass brainwashing event related to the government and some controversies with that (I don't wanna go into a whole bunch of details but it wasn't MK Ultra or anything). This stuff was obviously not true imo, but like, I really wonder if the people there actually believed that, or were just pretending so much and reinforcing it that they like placebo/half believed it? I don't know I hope you get what I'm saying. But I've seen this stuff time and time again It makes me wonder :P

Brainwashing doesn't mean forgetting something usually, it means being manipulated or controlled by some means. Usually sociologically, psychologically or technologically.
Brainwashing happens to prisoners of war.
Brainwashing can happen by chemical manipulation/forcing/convincing someone to take certain drugs or combinations of drugs.
Brainwashing can happen via Asch conformity and other propaganda measures.
Brainwashing can also occur in some new, and very advanced clandestine ways that I won't mention here.
