Ideas for a mobile port of FriendRewind.

So yeah. I think the idea of a mobile port of this site would be sick, but it would definitely need some thought behind it.

A mobile port of this site would make it easily comparable to SpaceHey, which already has an app. I think that the layout of the app would need to be simple, yet easy to use, which is a flaw with the SpaceHey mobile port (no hate towards spacehey, their mobile port is just a bit funky). I think the main idea for a mobile port of FriendRewind would need to focus on actually being a mobile port and not a desktop layout on a mobile screen. This idea shouldn't be an instance of a web company just putting their website desktop design onto a phone screen. It should be a rework of the layout system, still including the 2000's vibe, yet keeping the mobile port functional and worth downloading, essentially creating the same sense of retro living and actual interest in going on the website. If your app looks bad and has a bad layout, no one is going to want to use it.

I know that a mobile port of this site would require work and all, but I think it would be well worth it if it's done right and looks good. It would most likely boost the popularity of the entire site too.

This is not me begging or being critical about the idea of a mobile port. I just think that it's a really cool idea to think about and would be awesome to see actually happen.

Thanks for reading!

I use FriendRewind on my phone for pretty much everything except fiddling with my codes. I put a shortcut on my homescreen and it pretty much feels like a mobile app. They also adjust people’s layouts to actually be viewable (unlike in SpaceHey where everything is everywhere) The messages, front page, profiles, blogs, ect. look pretty good!

That's actually sick! Thanks for the idea😁

I hope they consider creating an app version. That would be so great!
