Indian character in japanese video game

This wouldve fit more for aapi month but like idrc. I shouldnt need to wait a month for something i can whenever

Im not indian and idk if this is “good representation”. I iust thought it was interesting.

Im not very knowledgeable on Indian culture so correct me if im wrong or tell me things i missed

Currycutta Dondy from Taiko no Tatsujin. The third player character.

He is a japanese taiko drum possessed from a Indian Maharaja(like a king or prince in India) and is also obsessed with Curry.

Currycutta is also mentioned to be from India in the anime.

In the episode “Hi,Im DON-CHAN” Don chan wants to learn English. He at first asks Kotaro for all the English words he knows. Currycutta then appears to tell Kotaro one of the words he said was Russian, not English. Currycutta then says he can teach Don chan English which Kotaro thinks is a good idea because he’s from India and they speak English in India. Currycutta confirms that they speak English in India.

Currycutta is also seen wearing a turban. While it is not something only wore in India or even the Indian subcontinent. It definitely is wore there.

Idk what the drink is so plz tell me if you know

Just noting, I found it interesting a Japanese rhythm game would make one of the player characters Indian
