intro blog

My profile provides a pretty good summary of who I am I feel but I’ll do a blog post summary anyway! At the end of this blog post I’ll include some links.

My name’s Steven, I’m 19, and I’m from the Chicago suburbs. I’m sometimes a musician, sometimes a writer, and sometimes a visual artist, but professionally I am just Some Guy. Currently, I’m a social work student. I have a ton of interests, but my main ones are criminology/true crime, sociology, experimental/transgressive/disturbing media (includes music, film, and literature), science, left-wing politics, psychology, journalism, social work (obviously), and history. I write poetry, articles/essays, and fiction sometimes. As far as music goes, I primarily make experimental music influenced by noise and industrial. Also, my  MBTI type is ISTP if anyone cares. I have both autism and ADHD, and my neurodivergence influences me greatly.

I’m pretty chill. I love interacting and am actually a bit socially extroverted at times which is why I tend to send a lot of friend requests. I don’t have that much of a DNI and will simply either block or not interact if I don’t want to be interacting with you.

Some of my favorite music artists right now are Death In June, Current 93, Sol Invictus, Silver Apples, Anenzephalia, Whitehouse, XTC, Big Black, Shellac, Talking Heads, and many more! You can see more of my favorite artists on my profile. The music genres I’m into are primarily neofolk, post punk, new wave, vaporwave, hauntology/liminal, avant garde, noise/power electronics, and disco/hi-nrg. I like other stuff though too! I listen to anything as long as I like the way it sounds.

If you’d like to read my work and listen to my music, I’ve provided links to both below.

Listen to my music!

Read my writing!
