Just finished icarly. started the reboot. yes the reboot is bad. sadly. / ramble #16

WAHHH the icarly ending was so sad i genuinely had a few tears shed. whatever i know all yall probably saw the ending when you were like 10. whatever didn’t watch icarly as a kid ANYWAYS it was beautiful i love icarly.

the reboot on the other hand.. 😭 oh my GRAVY. so bad.

I mean of course we all expect the reboot to be bad but i heard something about Jerry trainor directing it or somewhere behind the scenes so i was like “oh i like him maybe it’ll be good”.. it’s like a weird sitcom that tries to be satire corny but is still corny and weird. all the characters are pretty out of character except for spencer and maybe carly. also Harper is so annoying.

SOOO annoying. I feel like harper has SO much potential but like they totally just made her stereotypical black girl who says internet lingo and is gay… which sucks because like dude please give her some depth or something PLEASE. I think i’m only about 6-ish episodes into the reboot and i will say i’m semi-invested in the story.. but also i have nothing else to watch.

No i need to rant about Harper. Okay now i’m gonna sound bad for this. But i swear they just added her TO have a black character in the show. like i totally get it, have no issues, but i feel like it’s more racist to just have a soulless stereotypical black character than just to not include one at all 😭 like her only purpose in the show is to say one “woke” line or talk about “the ick” or other trendy internet word.. like CMONNNN😭 give us more to her character PLEASE. Like i like her dynamic with spencer i think that’s kinda funny maybe that coulda been expanded maybe? But oughhh harper she’s so annoying 😭 “oh maybe straight weddings are interesting” like shut up.. i don’t hate gay people i am bisexual. like harper. but it ICKS me. like ouh its not even getting a tickle laugh outta me.. its just giving like “oh yes the gay woke audience gonna love this.” Like it feels so written by a straight person. I know it’s a sitcom but BRO atleast make her likeable 😭😭 have yall SEEN andre from victorious?? it’s POSSIBLE. i know yall nickoloden can write this.

the writing is so booty. so ASS. i’m not sure if the acting was just bad but i think it’s the writing. The writing is so.. not human.. like it’s so bad it makes the acting feel unnatural because it’s written so badly.

althought maybe the wrote spencer good. he’s the only like character where i’m like yeah that’s spencer.

also FREDDIE. yall did him so dirty i got offended on his behalf. also his daughter is SO annoying too😭 i think that’s her whole point tho so im less mad? but she piss me off personally 😭😭😭😭😭

idk everything feels so forced and feels written by someone very straight and very white.. it feels severely unseasoned and bad. i liked the return of baby spencer though.. maybe my icks will be resolved if i keep watching. I’m not sure. also jennette totally dodged a bullet not joining the reboot.. but also maybe we needed sam. idk it’s just like it’s so BAD.
