Okay so keep in mind that this is just MY INTERPRETATION :
- In my interpretation, the movie talks about toxicity in a couple from one side and the family system that normalized, protected, enabled and kinda enouraged it
- She said at the beggining of the movie after Will's death before his cremation " I dn't want to see them" talking about his family- that just reinforced my interpretation
- She was pressured to keep a "connection" with him, either with her wedding ring or with the restaurant "That's what will would have wanted"....Well SUZANNE how about FUCK HIM??????
- TAHT DUMB B!TCH WILL DOESN'T EVEN LEAVE HER ALONE WHEN HE'S DEAD, he keeps harassing her talking about fucking "that what i said in my vows- in sickness or in heath"....... YOU'RE NOT EVEN ALIVE
Alice being French (insert Jennifer Lopez's meme my gente latino) isn't a small detail:
- She doesn't have ANY support system on her own, no family, no real friend- every single person she has in her circle is related to Will
- She is also culturally and socially "restrainned" making her more isolated, no one knew her pre-Will, independently from him, she is cut off from her originality, her own person and becomes "Will's wife"
Anyways, a you can see, i loved the movie, i could also debate how this movie could also be in my pervious list of "horror movies being political" for the whole english vs french contrast in the movie but i even don't want to go there, ill be writting until dawn...
Obviously i LOVED MY GIRL ALICE, I loved THYA ( r.i.p my girl you deserved better than that fuck ass coward man Joeseph), GRANDMA POLLY YOU SHOULD HAVE LIVED
Overall this movie is a good 7.50/10 i would have loved more background about Alice, about Will's family ect, the music were INSANE, the colors of the movie on point it really dive us into the mood without it being too "dull" or "bluish" i especially loved the switch from "blue, grey, white, brown" to "red,Yellow, orange" and since we started switching colors- it stayed like that until the end where it went back to the original color palette.
Last thing, i would have loved for the ending scene not to be too similar to the ending of the 1st "Ready or not"/"Wedding nightmare"
