Kokiri Tunic

I feel like there is too much going on with it 

In the Ocarina Of Time remake there is a lot of detail with the stitching on the hat and tunic and I like the charms, but there is something else that is bugging me. The hide or rubber armor plate looks plasticy, I mean the bodies of the characters don't fare better with how glossy they are. So maybe it fits, but I just wish it wasn't a part of the outfit. 

Next, the lines on the hat. What are they really there for? Just another unnecessary decoration if you ask me. Along with the coils on the hat, probably the worst detail. I just do not like it, this kid was raised in forest with fairies and immortal children so I get it! It has to look fantastical, but It's just so far from the original.
