kuuchuu buranko

i've been rewatching this anime (english name trapeze) for the first time in like 15 years :'^) i have a weird problem now which is that i find it... kind of overwhelming to watch... rewatches are supposed to be relaxing right? LOL. i'm pretty sure i watched it through in all one go the first time so i wonder what's changed. maybe i'm just old now...

anyone else here watched it? i'm curious if other people get overwhelmed ... i recommend it in general if you're looking for a short anime to watch (12 ep). 

its main claim to fame is that pierre taki/denki groove did the opening theme - it's a super good song so at least watch that opening :) 

it's a bit bittersweet because taki-san was made such an example of in his court case for cocaine use, but at least he's free now (i think?! right?!) so i don't feel as sad anymore.

well, after doing a little googling trying to find a single representative gif of the animation so i could use it to close out this post, nowadays its claim to fame seems to actually be the director, nakamura kenji, who also did that one movie my ex got really into mononoke. back in the day the important name on the project was denki groove! so i guess i really am just old LOL. 

i've seen tsuritama and kuuchuu buranko, so would i be able to call myself a nakamura kenji fan...? now that i know he's become a popular director because of his recent work, i feel like an idiot savant caveman ...
