Late Night Ideas No.1

A young, freshly graduated college student (maybe like 23???) Inherits a really spooky mansion in the woods that belonged to their great great great great great great great great (however many greats) uncle.

The interesting part is that the mansion technically still belongs to that great-great-great, etc uncle because he's still alive... as a vampire!

Vampire great-uncle and young relative start living together (unknowingly bc this mansion is HUGE). The Vampire finally notices someone else in his house when the young relative starts making garlic knots, and it makes him sneeze uncontrollably.

They eventually, formally, meet and sort out a living situation (the only reason the vamp uncle lets the person stay alive is that they are blood, though not directly, still blood).

They leave each other alone until the Vamp!Uncle notices the Y!relative staying up waaay too late watching movies or talking to themselves in their room. This goes on for a few weeks since the V!Unc figured there wouldn't be any harsh consequences to this new habit. The Vamp!Uncle decides to finally intervene when the Y!relative starts staying up for multiple days with no sleep and almost sets the mansion on fire after leaving a stove on.

They talk (after Y!relative gets some proper sleep), and Y!relative finally decides to make an effort actually to fall asleep.

Vamp!Uncle changes during this period of time, from being cold and uncaring to now treating the Y!relative like the daughter he never had.

They end up being close and having movie nights where they watch horrible rip-off movies while trying to guess the budget, or which voice actors had a role, or even what software they used to make the movie.

The rest of the family has no idea this very old vampire relative is still alive, and he'd like to keep it that way. If they did know he was alive, he'd have to actually show up for family gatherings and bring presents for the bratty kids who unknowingly vandalized their own Great Uncle's home.
