Whoa there buddy before you click off and go to a website thats strangely orange and black? You're scaring me actually close your incognito browser so i cant see the tab ANYWAYS
Why dont you learn about types of squid?
So first off squid are scientifically called cephalopods there are two sub categories of squid the first type is Myopsida they're typically shollow water squids with covered eyes the second type is Oegopsida which are deep ocean squid with open eyes
First off why do the Myopsida have their eyes closed and why do Oegopsida have their eyes open? Well it all comes down to a fleshy little membrane that makes the myopsida look like their eyes are closed
So what else defines the difference between a myopsida and a oegopsida
Myopsida are costal squid with the transplant membrane that protects their eyes from sand and debris with suction cups on their tentacles and oegopsida are deep ocean squids with no membrane on thier eyes and hooks on their tentacles for hunting (also because they don't have the membrane on their eyes they can see very very well in the dark)
Now whats with the whole law and order thing? Well dont let that trip you up to much the scientific name for squids are Teuthida however because theres over 300 species it's easier to classify them under two sub orders to help classify them
Thank you for reading my cute little blog
