LOUDER THAN LIFE!!! (everything I saw)

Took me awhile to post about it bc my brain is still processing it but Louder Than Life was amazing this year!!!!

Here's all the bands I saw this year and how I felt about them!!:

Thursday

Dark Divine

Quite literally found out about them when they appeared on this years line-up, they were amaizng!! The Bourbon stage is honestly probably my favorite stage, always smaller acts and the sound circulates so much better, it also in the shade.

Gwar

What a fucking treat what the fuck, all I really knew about them is that they were very bloody and gross and very South Parkcore. I got to watch Trump get gored it was great, wish I was up front so I could get covered in blood.

Mac Sabbath

Silly as fuck, like of course I'm gonna go see the parody band that's the McDonald's mascots but Fucked Up, the fact that they're from the UK is the cherry on top

Archers

I don't even remember why we saw them, I think a friend recommended them? But oh my god I'm so happy we did they were so fun.

Sabaton

GRAAAAAH SABATON!!!!! They made me wish they had a power metal centric day again this year. They looked like they were cooking to death in the Kentucky heat (they're from Sweden) but they were still so fun!! Their lead Joakim Brodén is such a sweetie.

Anthrax

You're gonna see a theme, a lot of these bands I've never listened to all that much, music festivals are really good for finding new music. They are fucking insane!! I can see why they're so popular

Iron Maiden

Didn't stay for the whole thing, they aren't really my thing but I have to show respect to my elders of course.

Megadeth

Also not a band I'm huge on but the were actually insane live!!

Skillet

Only Christians I respect /hj. I left Iron Maiden for them, to quote myself "if I don't see them I will not go to heaven", they were fucking magical live, I got a beautifully crunchy video of Monster I Have Become I still need to upload. It's so funny to me how good John Cooper's vocals are and then when he speaks he sounds like a stereotypical white Christian, love him for that.

Friday

Get Scared

I admittedly feel slightly gross going to this show (though I don't think the creeper band member is still there?? I'm not sure) but they were fucking great, also very good moshpit.

LS Dunes

Another band I didn't know much about, all I knew is that they're a supergroup of members of other big bands, I was genuinely blown away they were so good.

Sleeping With Sirens

Amazing of course. Sad that they lost some of their time because of the storm but they were so good!! LTL is right next to the Louisville airport and thus there's a lot of airplanes that come pass and fuckin Kellin Quinn inbetween songs just kept pointing at the sky and going "airplane~!! airplane~!!" that's my goat.

The Used

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK I'VE BEEN MISSING OUT!!! I feel like a fuckin poser for not listening to them sooner as a emo punk born in Utah. They are fucking iconic!!!!

We The Kings

I unfortunately don't remember too much about them but they were very good!!

A Day To Remember

Another band that I feel like I've been fuckin missing out on holy shit wowwww, they were so fucking good live, loved them.

Pierce The Veil

HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!! I genuinely injured my neck from headbanging too much during their set WOW!! Their music is so much better live, it's insane.

MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE!!!!!

Highlight of the entire festival holy fucking shit, they made all the other headliners look like NOTHING!!! They were beautiful. I watched Gerard Way eat a guy's throat out, I watched a clown bomb herself, I forgot how much I adore this band. They all looked like they were having the time of their lives, I hope I can see them again some day.

Not really my thing HOWEVER their moshpit was fucking awesome.

Another band I unfortunately don't remember much from other than them being pretty good

Hail The Sun

WHOA!!!!!!!!!! We didn't even come over their for them and were so fucking delightfully surprised, so fucking good and so fucking based.

Icons For Hire

THEY WERE SO FUN!!!!!!! Another band recommended by a friend, I don't know how much I'd listen to them regularly but they were so incredibly fun to see live.

Lindsey Stirling

HOLY FUCK SHE IS SO MAGICAL LIVE!! I'm so happy they took the risk on her, I'm sure Halestorm helped with that. The way she moves is hypnotizing, fucking magical.

Halestorm

I don't think I would listen to them regularly but they were so incredibly fun live, Izzy Hale has one of the prettiest voices ever.

BABYMETAL

FUCK YEAH!!!!! I've seen them before actually! when I was like 15. They have grown so much. Their moshpit was 100% my favorite, love me a wall of death. I think my husband may have fallen in love with Su-metal (valid she is beautiful)

Limpbizkit

Didn't stay for very long because I was tired and I uh, don't care, but the crowd was very fun.

Sunday

Rivers of Nihil

They did them so fucking dirty by making them so early in the morning, beautiful live.

Holywater

Complete shot in the dark, they were very fun

Another shot in the dark, so fucking good!!!

MATSODON

Great music great crowd, rowdy as fuck moshpit (positive) I think I saw a guy get a concussion while here.

Black Veil Brides

ANOTHER BAND I'VE BEEN MISSING OUT ON!!! Their song Hallelujah has been stuck in my head since. Also mad respect for the lead Andy Biersack jumping down from the stage to force people to move out of the way for a person injured in the pit.

Atreyu

Not much to say other than they were super fun

Gojira

NO WONDER THEY ARE THE PRIDE OF FRANCE HOLY SHIT!! I had not listened to a single one of their songs before seeing them and I think going in blind was the best experience because WOW they were beautiful.

Tool

What a good send-off, even if my Tool concert curse continues. Everytime I've seen Tool live something has gone wrong, first time my Dad fell unconscious (touched someone with a contact-based drug) and this time I lost my wallet, also because Tool is filled with assholes (positive) they went waaaay overtime. MCR was still better tho.
