made myself a fursona!

As much as it kind of cringes me, since my pan, nonbinary, pierced ass is the STEREOTYPE of a leftist snowflake, I've literally always had a fursona, ever since I was like seven.

It was always a cat, when I was little, all the way up to highschool. Then, when I was 16, in my kawaii fashion phase, it became a dog. I quite literally lost the tablet with drawings of the dog one, otherwise I'd show you... LOL. Anyways, about two years ago, I started my alt/"emo" phase, and decided a raccoon would be more accurate, and I hold that belief to this day. But why did I choose these animals?

The original cat ones were honestly just because cats were my favorite animal. When I was a small child, I fully believed my DNA was somehow half cat, and I read a lot of Warrior Cats, so obviously that was my furry species of choice.

In my kawaii phase, i succumbed to the "cutecore" kemonomimi thing. Originally, I was still a cat, but I was also incredibly emotionally dependant on my bf of the time, and I bragged about how loyal I was, so I decided I'd be a dog instead. I had a whole phase of about six months in which most of my Pinterest saves were stuff like "no brain, just little puppy princess!!" and that sort of thing... damaging mentality for my self-worth, to say the least.

When my alt phase came around, I didn't immediately switch to raccoon. I just remember some old person, at some point, on a train, telling me I looked like one, and then realizing that my grey/black clothes and dark makeup DID in fact look raccoon-ish. I started thinking about it, and it actually felt more accurate than a dog. I left that boyfriend, and that brought my unwavering emotional dependance to a stop, and I met my current boyfriend and our friend group. The raccoon started to make even more sense, both since it's pretty "punk" aesthetically, and because of the personality. They're wild animals, who act a lot like orange cats in their being rather silly and sweet, they eat a bunch of trash (i'm a junk food junkie) and they're perennially scared, much as I am. I even did raccoon stripes in my hair!

For now, the raccoon has stuck with me, and I doubt it'll change anytime soon.

She used to look a teeny bit different though, since I was basically a whole other person a year and a half ago when I designed her...

So, here's the list of changes I made:

- She used to have Converse, as a default, even when naked. That was mainly because I sucked at drawing paws. Now, I've pretty much figured out her lower paws, so she does have a fully naked version, and I changed her default shoes to my yellow-laced combat boots. Same for her earring, which used to be a fish instead of a bone, since I just use my favorite earring for her.

- There were no spiked belts or bracelets or choker, she usually just wore the skull shirt that Jesse Pinkman wears in s1, the one with its tongue sticking out.

- Since the leather accessories are black, I changed their fur to a warmer grey for chromatic variation, it bothered the hell out of me that it was almost monochrome.

- I add piercings on as I get them, so she didn't use to have the labret or the bellybutton.

- He used to be more anthropomorphic, but I like more animal-looking furries better now, so he's basically just a raccoon standing up.

- There were no white spots on the eyebrows, or any eyebrows, for that matter, before this drawing. It was hard to make accurate expressions with only the eyes, though, so this is an improvement.

That's it! I hope you like them! if I can find pics of my old sonas, I'll definitely upload them :P

Bye!
