male fashion

i like all types of fashion,but i think men and specifically teenagers have the lamest styles,i am not denying there are good outfits and decent styles but i was watching a video where they were giving this guy a "makeover" and they showed a before photo in which he was wearing a white tanktop and one of those long shorts (they called this not stylistic) but then in the after he was wearing basically the same sorts,a grey tshirt and one of those open short sleeved button ups,which is just as boring in my opinion,some guys i see experimenting with fashion but why are most scared of colour,patterns,sillouhettes? i do also acknowledge that what they are advertised is boring but then search for something different,you can buy colours and patterns.
