Mantis things #3

Hi!! It’s been a week! 

Will post a video of her eating in a bit, but here’s a photo

Now, lots of yap for those curious.
So, before and after she molten, she didn’t eat anything and really made me worry for pretty long time! Seriously, one day I spent like half of the day trying to feed her, but it was no good. 
But my worries were silly, now that I look back at it. She molten. Of course her exoskeleton was small for her before the molt, so she was slower, didn’t eat and etc. 

Right after molt she became much more active but needed a few days for her new exoskeleton to solidify. 

SO. To the now :D

She is active, climbs around her insectarium and is curious about everything that moves! Eats well too, a bit too well I’d say!!!

Mantises are like dogs in the matter of food: they will eat as much as you give them, so it’s important to not overfeed them. 

 Oh, about food! I got these new cockroaches for her, they are SUPER active, but she catches them very fast, probably just because they are more interesting to catch than the other ones(I will get rid of them today, because I think I saw their cup start to grow mold, and that’s an extreme no from me! I will make sure they are all dead and then seal them well before throwing out, dw).

Anyway, the new cockroaches are really good, she likes them and I can tell. Partially, because today I put one in her cage, she ate it, and then I was like,

 “Okay, what if I start trying to feed her on my hands from time to time?”

Why did I think of that? Well, mantises can't be tamed, but(!), one can teach them to grown indifferent to climb on hands, hang out with one and etc.
So I wanna do just that! I want her to tolerate me haha.

Today’s attempt failed tho, I tried to lure her in by holding the cockroach with tweezers and lead her out to my hand, but I accidentally dropped it and she caught it first LOL!
Still, I’m gonna try tomorrow without food and maybe try with food again the day after tomorrow.

She did climb around on my hands and desk before(willingly of course!!), although recently she started to be a bit skittish, so I don’t trouble her.
I still need to buy fake plants for her enclosure, and maybe look for bigger box for future, who knows? We’ll see!! 

To the part some of you probably wondered!!
I named her Madonna!
I just like the singer Madonna a lot haha
 But top comment of the post about her name was “Saw”, so I might call her that too, it’s really cool, I like it :3Last thing, do y`all think a QnA would be good?
