Hello, everyone!
I'd initially planned on releasing all my singles onto this site at the same time, since I might not have enough to say for each one to justify a blog post, but I thought I could make an exception for this one.
Initially released late January, this was a request from a close friend of mine, for her birthday. At that point I'd been making music for less than a month, so I was quite worried about the end result, but thankfully it ended up being pretty good! I was given a track as an inspiration ("Home Resonance but not Home Resonance"), and after a bunch of repeated listens, I got to work. It was a fun process, and I'd learned a lot in the experience too, sort of broadening my horizons, really glad I took it up.
Recently, after the release of The Longing EP (upload here pending), I got word that it's still a bit on the quiet side - mixing has been a struggle for me, and I'd thought this one was much better, and I got feedback from my lovely girlfriend, that I should normalise the tracks - something I'd not been doing. The issue being they sound mostly loud enough in my headphones, but quiet in my car's speakers and I didn't know how to fix that. And I think that this was the missing piece to make both sound just right, so I'll be fixing that on my current tracks before sharing them here.
I can also swap audio on Soundcloud, but other streaming platforms need a higher tier of DistroKid, which I don't currently wanna pay for just for that so... oh well xD
Thanks for tuning in, cheers,
Cordell

Well, currently listening to "Mauve" and actually it's pretty well done and I really liked it.
I'm looking forward on that other EP you'd be releasing here.
Thanks!
While normalising the audio, I didn't change anything in the mix except making the distorted drums slightly louder, but overall every synth is much more clear and audible - that's the main thing.
So, on the to-do list is to fix the audio for one album, one EP and two more singles, and I'll share them here as I go.
They're currently available everywhere else as is, which does take away a little bit from the experience (a lot if you're listening on speakers), especially the Dream Walks album, but it is what it is.
I need to re-export them as .mp3 or .ogg anyway due to this site's 50MB limit instead of the .wav that I mainly use, so it's not like I'm just slow-dripping stuff for the sake of it ^^;
