I've started preparing for Avengers: Doomsday, so a lot of what you'll be seeing is Marvel-related. I thought it would be good to keep track of what I watch and the books I read. It's also just fun to put together. I probably won't write much on here, but I do have more on my Letterboxd and Goodreads that I might eventually link somewhere. I'm not much of a critic or anything, so don't expect anything decent from me.

I don't know why I waited so long to watch this movie because I loved it. We were going to see Supergirl the next day, so I'm kinda glad I waited just so that I could have felt the excitement that I did. I've always been more of an MCU kind of girl, but these new DC projects feel like a good place to tag along for.

I didn't like this one as much as I had hoped to. I thought it could have been more of a statement film like Superman was, but it failed to be so.
Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)Rewatched 7/19/26⭐⭐⭐⭐I forgot how good this movie was. It's a good introduction to the Captain America mentality. Steve Rogers' will and compassion, his integrity, are so component to the core of the legacy that is Captain America.

Hulk (2003)Watched 7/21/26⭐⭐✨The Hulk was never one of my favorite characters of the MCU, but I feel a change in the air...
The Hulk here is this monster, his father's indirect creation, something buried in the very being of Bruce Banner. What the Hulk can represent is exactly why I now have a growing interest in the character.
The movie was a bit slow but had some creative edits and transitions.
The Incredible Hulk (2008)Watched 7/22/26⭐⭐✨Good Hulk, a boring Banner. Why did it take 17 years to pick up the pieces left behind in this movie?
Thor (2011)Rewatched 7/22/26⭐⭐✨Never cared much for Thor compared to others. He wasn't such a bad character in this movie compared to what they've turned him into.
The Avengers (2012)Rewatched 7/22/26⭐⭐⭐⭐This movie is so iconic in so many ways. The scenes, the quips and quotes. Like, this is the moment.
Daredevil (2003)Watched 7/22/26⭐⭐⭐It's fun. I liked how they flirted in the courtyard, and the soundtrack was killer. Bullseye was on some crack, and how they portrayed Daredevil's senses was cool to see.
The Punisher (2004)Watched 7/23/26⭐⭐⭐⭐I actually really liked this movie. A bit slow at times, but good. Dave is a real one.
Elektra (2005)Watched 7/23/26⭐⭐I have more questions than I do answers. I haven't read any comics, so the only knowledge I do have is from these movies. And this one didn't give me much.
Punisher: War Zone (2008)Watched 7/23/26⭐✨Jigsaw and his brother were a hoot and holler. God, it's so bad it's almost good. The brutal scenes are the only good thing about this movie."Yummy, yummy, yummy, in my tummy, tummy, tummy."

The Pitt I finally finished watching season 2 earlier in July.
Agent CarterS1 Eps 1-4I started rewatching Agent Carter, only a few episodes, but I forgot how enjoyable it was. I had only seen the first season previously, so I'd like to get around to seeing the second sometime. I'll circle back to rewatching the rest of the first season after a while.
DaredevilS1 Eps 1-13I had seen up into the second season, I think, before. So, I started rewatching it to catch up on later projects involving him. It's been a while since I've seen this show and I don't remember the stuff including The Hand in this. Since I've watched Elektra and the new Spider-Man movie will involve them (?) at least in the trailer, I'm intrigued to later learn more when I get the chance.S2 Eps 1-13I don't know if I've seen the first episode or not before, but it's familiar. I know I've seen the scene where Matt loses his hearing at his place, but I may have just watched it on TikTok. And my man Frank Castle shows up in the first episode, which I don't remember like at all, so maybe I haven't seen it. Anyways, he's one of my new favorite Marvel characters, I'd say, so I'm excited to see him show up now. I've been wanting to see how their relationship is.
The PunisherS1 Eps 1-13David appreciation~ He reminds me of Jack Hodgins from Bones, and I kinda love that. I really liked this first season, and I can't wait to see more of Castle. Exploring his trauma, grief, and morals alongside general themes of betrayal, corruption, and loneliness is such a good way to reel me in to a show. If a character isn't down in the dumps with more complex themes and motifs, then I'm out.
But honestly, I love these kinds of characters and stories. I'd even write an essay about it lol
I also watched the first two episodes of Jessica Jones because I needed context about what I assumed happens in The Defenders right before Daredevil S3, before deciding that I would just catch up on what happened throughout S3 when they gave details and watched the first two episodes anyway. I was planning on watching all of Daredevil and The Punisher, including Born Again and Last Kill before Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but I might just wait until I watch The Defenders and their individual shows.
Books
SpeakLaurie Halse AndersonFinished Reading-7/8/26⭐⭐✨I've had this book on my shelf for years, so I finally got around to reading it. I probably would have liked it better if I had read it earlier. The format of the book was a bit odd for me, but it made for an easier read. The topics of this book could have been explored better, but for being of YA genre and published in 1999, they are probably approached well enough. It's a story, not just of survival, but one of growth and resilience.
