I have decided to share my honest reviews on movies with you guys because I do not know what else to do and I really love cinema, I just thought to myself "Draden why don't you literally do the movie you just watched opening day" so that is exactly what I am going to do. I came into this movie with zero expectations except for the fact that I knew MJ was going to die due to Zendayas wardrobe choices during the press tour (spoiler alert she did not die).
While I was watching this movie all I could think about was how much I did not want it to end as well as the really good cinematography. Sadie Sink being Jean actually did shock me because I avoided any spoilers, I didn't even watch the full trailers because I wanted to be surprised. I am a little upset they still didn't make her powers pink. Why is it that every movie that she is in refuses to make her powers pink? I also love a powerful woman, so she made this movie like 10x more enjoyable. I loved the foreshadowing with the inhibitor and cannot wait to see how that becomes an issue after Secret Wars with the X-men. I did find it a bit crazy that Peter all of a sudden had control over his powers at the end just because he had them suppressed most of the time. Maybe it was him needing to embrace his spider DNA to gain control of it but like lowkey feels kinda lazy. MJ saying "I don't love you, I don't even know you" lowkey broke me. I was sad Jean left at the end I wanted her and Peter to be like besties and live together and bake a cake filled with rainbows and butterflies and they could eat it and be happy. Also, I cried to "Oh Yeah?" by Steve Lacy the other night. This was really the best Marvel movie I have seen in a HOT minute although the past few have been good this one is top level. It might actually be my favorite Spider-Man movie hot take.
Anyway, if you actually read all of that thank you so much lmk what you thought and lmk what movies I should watch next or review next. I am rewatching the X-Men movies atm so expect reviews of those soon. <3
I really hate paranormal horror movies so don't recommend those...or anything with Joey King...
