sorry if you clicked on this all excited to talk about MBAV but I'm more interested in saying: I think it's a fan project, here's why
first of all there's no trademark registered for it, neither in the US nor Canada. that's a major red flag.
second of all the logo quality is bad. they're using a PNG of the original MBAV logo that looks like it's been AI-upscaled
one thing in particular that stands out to me is that the bottom of the M is cut off by an odd shadow/border behind the H. if you really zoom in, you can even see a few pixels of the M behind it! this + the blood drips (which are just poor design in general, imo) make me feel like this was not designed by a professional artist. I could be wrong, but the inconsistency is weird, and not aligned with what I'd expect from a professional logo, nor what I'd expect from an officially licensed production with access to the real logo vectors.
why I think it might've been AI-enchanced? see how all the letters look like they're somehow merging with each other in really unnatural ways? how the M suddenly curves into the Y, when they should be meeting at a sharp angle? it's as if every edge on each letter was softened and rounded. this is what the official logo actually looks like [courtesy of Netflix]

not only is it not vertically squished (what the hell) but the letters are crisp and distinct, there's less merging and the corners aren't so rounded/fuzzy looking. the fuzziness of the "new logo" is particularly noticeable on the apostrophe
if they were using an official logo vector, none of that extra merging would've occurred. the "new logo" was made using a PNG someone got off google, and not even a good quality one, at that.
so I think it's a fan project, and if it is, good for them! they should probably remove the trademarked item from their logo before they get sued. the actual trademark for My Babysitter's A Vampire is still active in the US and Canada. I think it would be really cool if there were actually real, officially licensed MBAV content in our future, but unfortunately I don't believe this is it.
another odd thing is that each hashtag on the tiktok video has two octothorpe signs before it, sure that could simply be an accident caused by tiktok's silly tagging system, but it'd be kind of weird for a professional tv company to make such an odd spelling mistake (nobody read it over twice?) and not even bother to fix it 😅 don't you think?
idk I tend to err on the side of skepticism these days. I'll be pleasantly surprised if I'm wrong!
