So i have a iPod nano 3rd gen and a iPod shuffle 4th gen both in blue my nano is second hand but my shuffle was a gift. I have all of my favorite albums on my iPod nano and my like 'favorites playlist' on my shuffle because on the layouts, i loveee the cover flow on the nano and its alphabetical so its really organized and for my shuffle i made it to match the liked songs on spotify. So any singles or if i only liked a few songs of a whole album i put it on my shuffle.
I do use itunes for transfer since the apple ecosystem is closed but its really easy to transfer music files into the library ;) so i do that because im poor and 2-3 dollars a song is bullshit, i also use itunes to burn cds so any albums i want to play ambiently in my room i put it on a cd-r
I also have a RCA radio/cd player with a mp3 port so i can plug my ipods in if i want. Its really old so i use that to play my cds/cd-r's as well, if my nano ever kicks the bucket hopefully not any time soon i really want a 6th gen iPod classic which is the best optimized iPod on the second hand market but i'm not going to buy one outright until my nano dies.
I do also have a radio/cassette player that i fixed but cassettes aren't my favorite physical media, so i might donate it.
