i've wanted so very badly to play/replay most of the zelda franchise for AGESSSSS,
in the end, i decided to start with twilight princess. it was the one game i've always wanted to play but never quite managed to actually sit down and finish. i love, love, loooove the whole style of this game. that darker and less cartoonish look is such a good look compared to the usual softer style the rest of the zelda series leans into.
+ the wolf mechanic was pretty damn enjoyable, oddly enough, i thought id hate it or that it'd be a pain, yet, running around as wolf link felt surprisingly fun and howling at the wind was pretty iconic.
one thing i really enjoyed was the one and only zant, he's quite literally a s tier shithead. the fight with him was so good, especially because it brought back the main combat mechanics used against previous bosses, i think it was a very clever touch since he's been watching us from the start!!
mechanics aside, the best part is just how much of a rat zant is.
dude is literally just jumping around, throwing tantrums, and goofing off while i'm actively fighting for my life on my last two remaining hearts. he's a fucking lunatic and it made beating his ass feel so much more rewarding
but... man... the finale.
after all that buildup, the final fight with ganon was absolute rubbish. for the literal king of evil, he was far too easy, and i was genuinely disappointed by it. you expect this epic, grueling test of everything you've learned, especially with all the hidden skills you learn throughout the game, instead, it felt like a walk in the park. after sweating through the rest of the game, just breezing through the final boss felt like a massive letdown.
all 3 phases were pretty much: "wait, wait, ok, dodge a little, counter, he's down BEAT HIMMMM"
overall, twilight princess is a pretty solid game, even if ganon forgot how to put up a actual fight at the end... crushing zant made the journey worth it alone.
i thinkkkk my favorite domain was the snow peaks, i love yeto and yeta they're so so cute.. even though, oh my god the boss fight there actually scared me simply because, uh, i was expecting yeta to have something going on, sure!! but, i wasnt expecting her to turn around suddenly and make me borderline shit my pants with that demonic close up.
actually wicked, not going to lie.
this was also probably the hardest domain for me since literally every single small enemy one shot me multiple times, i dont know if i just didn't have enough hearts or what, but i had two bottles full of soup at all times and i still kept dying every two steps...
i just remembered, i saved a.... uhhh, was it called fairy tears...?? something like that, i had a bottle of it and kept it the whoooole game, waiting for that final fight to proudly use that item on andddd... then i never used it #progamer
ugh, i'm so bummed out by that, i really wanted ganon to kill me at least a few times until i understood how the fight was supposed to be actually fought, then whip out my bottle of fairy tears and mess him up, ya know?
...i kept that bottle the whole gameplay just for that moment and yet had no need for it...
...siiiighhhh...
anywayyy, here's my save file if anyone cares at all:

so, now that this one is finally off my bucket list, i gotta figure out which game i'm going to tackle next. i was thinking either ffx, start kingdom hearts from the beginning, orrrrrrr.... tloz wind waker? i heard that one has a good lore on par with twilight princess.
i really want to get into ffx tho, i played it when i was little but never got to finish it, i think i got stuck at some sort of desert at the time but hardly have any memories of it so i might be mistaken...
we will see!! :P
