Nicknames/petnames

I saw someone talking about this so i will too. I just feel like nicknames/petnames are just so subjective right? Sometimes i feel like society doesnt use them as much as id like to but sometimes i feelmlike they are crossing lines. For example sometimes id drop a “my love” or “baby” but not because im flirting or anything, im just saying them because and then someone else would think im flirting when im not. But at the same time, sometimes i take them too seriously because if someone calls me “sweetheart” or”princess” i just completelt melt even though when i use them i say “its not that deep” but when someone else uses them i take it very personally. Honestly i feel very conflicted about them and it genuinely dependd on my mood for how id feel about being called one or using one
