no really im pissed off about like how foreigners talk about america

so many non americans i see online are like "americans are so privileged and they think they live in a bad country, watch what happens when they go to a country that's had war on their soil" and shit like that

like yeah americans have a lot of privileges i guess we have like for the most part consistent electricity and food and clean water nd shit but so many people from other countries see that america has like starbucks and they form their whole opinion off that, when most americans cant even get starbucks

like good country is when starbucks

and its also kind of difficult to talk about because america is HUGE and there's not a whole lot similar between states and regions because there's so many tiny governments. things can be completely different in different parts of the country, but they dont get that and they see a wealthy part of america and they say "all america is like this"

and i mean also its crazy that like, truthfully, in the grand scheme of things, a wealthy first world country like america is being compared to venezuela. like no shit america is better than venezuela

compare america to other first world countries and it looks like total shit

and i mean istg im not even trying to make myself like a poor victim by saying this, i know i have it way better than other people, it just pisses me off when non americans make the blanket statement that the whole country is rich and privileged and completely dismiss any criticism of it literally because blonde starbucks wojak when some of the only benefits of the country are just bullshit that no one even receives

like stop talking about how americans have never had a problem ever and we're all whiny aristocrats when there are homeless people, families and kids, lined all up and down the street with no shelter or help, completely shit education that's more meant for propaganda than actually learning anything, whole towns or neighborhoods without power for weeks and literal children being killed for not being white. but yeah america is sooo good
