Right now I don't know how I feel about the remake. I want to be optimistic and excited for the new generation experiencing the game, it's my favorite! I want every kid to have fun in that era of Hyrule like I did growing up. But yeah it's my favorite game ever, so I am also scared it won't carry over the same magic.
I've watched the release trailer and a lot of it is really good, the Great Deku tree was beautiful! The dungeons so far looked amazing and close to the originals, the lighting on Hyrule field was great. I also loved seeing Link with the Kokiri Sword and Queen Gohma. That is all what I want so far, the original platforming, puzzle solving, game mechanics etc. with richer, more engaging visuals.
My gripes are with the voice acting and the glossy animation, and Zelda's big head lmao. I grew up with the N64 and 3DS versions so I am not used to them talking in this game. BotW was different cuz it was such a jump for the series, hearing Saria talk in the Lost Woods just made me cringe, I'll be honest. I liked most of the visuals but the Kokiri tunic looked way over-designed, I don't know what they were going for.
Some random gripe I have is that the Master Sword in this remake looks like the new gen version from Skyward Sword onward, I wish the hilt didn't look like a Loftwing I guess lol or I just want the broadsword and thick hilt look that the original had.
