OG Naruto Geek Session

OG NARUTO SPOILERS

The relationship between Naruto & Sasuke. They mean so much to one another, even if (Sasuke) tries to tear the strings attaching them in pursuit of his dream/shinobi way.

There's different ways to interpret why Sasuke left the village Konoha, but I think he left because of his pride and his vengeance. Yes, he left the village to gain more power to kill Itachi but he also left because he couldn't accept that Naruto was not only becoming stronger. The once weak, airheaded and loner Naruto was surpassing him.

On the other hand Naruto considered Sasuke as a rival. Someone who had everything he didn't. They both were orphans (Naruto never had met or had his parents), (Sasuke who had a family/clan and lost them), yet the village appraised Sasuke, called him a talent, excelled on every mission had the attention and recognition Naruto wanted all his life.

At first they did not get along at all, but the relationship was changing over the time they spent together. Especially when they went on a "A/S" rank mission, the Village of the Waves Arc. When fighting an opponent Sasuke had sacrificed himself to protect Naruto. Both of them really didn't know why Sasuke did it. In the moment all Sasuke could say was

"I used to hate you, you know...My body moved on its own...I swore I wouldn't die, until I killed him [Itachi]...But don't you dare die [idiot]."

Which confused Naruto, how could Sasuke choose him over pursuing his dream/oath. Sasuke's life and decisions revolved around him becoming stronger and taking revenge on Itachi, yet in the moment Naruto was above that ideal. (Sasuke ended up recovering but it was a big moment for them, Naruto also lost it after thinking Sasuke was dead, where the nine tail seal became loosened.)

There are other examples after this like the Chunin Exams arc, all 3 of the exams had moments where Sasuke & Naruto swore to become stronger than the other. In doing so their bonds is what pushed them to better themselves and their jutsu.

Ultimately, if Sasuke became stagnant and happy in Konoha, how will he ever take revenge? How will his hate continue to grow if he is living in ease? How can he continue to live happily in the village when the memory of his clan being massacred haunted him? How could he accept & relish in hope and happiness when his heart was blackened with vengeance? So he left.

Now what's even more remarkable is Naruto's hope in Sasuke, how even after years apart, years of hearing Sasuke's crimes and wrongdoings he still considers him his comrade, his closest friend. Naruto continued to grow and hope that one day he will bring Sasuke back home to Konoha, to change his mind, to seek hope forgiveness in place of vengeance.
