on mitski

i dont think ive ever connected to an artist the way i connect to Mitski.

Its hard to explain without sounding dramatic, but her music has this super beautiful way of understanding feelings i dont even know how to describe. some songs make me nostalgic for moments ive never lived through, nd others make ordinary days feel like scenes from a movie.

i love how she isnt afraid to make her music soft. it doesnt always try to give answers or happy endings. I think that's what makes it so beautiful.

sometimes Ill replay the same song over nd over because one line suddenly means something different than it did the day before. her songs seem to grow with you.

whether im walking outside, staring out the car window, or lying in bed at 2 a.m. Mitski somehow always fits the moment.

everyone has that one artist theyll probably carry with them for years. mine is Mitski.
