Operation ivy was a big influential punk rock band from Berkeley cali 

mainly active 1987-1989, often credited with starting ska punk and had crazy impact on da scene...

Tim Armstrong and Matt Freemen both were in Operation ivy and later went onto Rancid

Operation ivy only released ONE full length album but after a short run their music stays popular in the ska/punk community :D
