Poem in Noelle Holiday's POV (Chapter 5 weird route)
Architecture is meant to follow the blueprints
Children are meant to follow the footprints
Ever since she left, I have never really dealt
With the choking way that I felt
Because I am supposed to follow my path
Getting good grades, craving my crush's wrath
But ever since I had that "dream"
Everything has split at the seam
I felt more awake then than I do now
Without snow in the air, I feel off somehow
Without them, I feel like I'm strung up to hang
Just doing what I'm supposed to, over and over again
But they broke free
I saw them acting differently
But I'm the only one that wants to notice their changing
I'm the only one who wants to start flying
I'm supposed to be calm, patient, sweet and antsy
But I need to know the salty taste of doing something crazy
I can feel their pulse racing from their hands into mine
But I won't let this escape me this time
I'm blind as I walk, as are they
And yet both of us so clearly see the way
It's cold, colder than I thought it would be
But it's not like freezing temperatures affect me
I'll do as you speak, so long as it's what I tell you to say
Because you'd make the wrong choice without me, okay?
Your ring digs and splinters into my bleeding hand
And my watch breaks in the water where you stand
You just have to say that word to me
Just hold my hands, and we'll both be free
