poser culture

idk how y'all view this but i cannot explain how much i hate this 'poser, poser' culture surrounding skateboarding lately. someone who dresses cute isn't automatically excluded from skating and someone who dresses aligned with the skating community doesn't necessarily skate. you're not a poser if you have a skateboard and actually use it. yet, at least in my area, everyone who can't do at least a shuv it+kickflip combo is a poser. it decourages so many cool people from actually skateboarding. and anyway, who cares if you're a poser? as long as you're not hurting anyone...

(also i feel that especially girls are often called posers simply because its a male dominated sport)
