Puffins!! :D

I'm specifically talking about the Atlantic puffin!! (Fratercula arctica, also known as the common puffin) and their order is charadriiformes with their family being Alcidae :-)

These lovely puffins are native to the Atlantic ocean (hence the name lol) and are most commonly found in Iceland 

Ouuggyhhhhhhh theyre so cute<333 so rotund look at this thing!!!!!

Northern puffins are typically bigger than those from the south and are generally considered to be a different subspecies.

 Puffins usually live on clifftop colonies and are rather social birds preferring to breed in large colonies :o they spend a lot of time at sea and are rather solitary during this time, Oh and funfact: Did you the color of  sea birds (black top and white underside) is actually to camouflage themselves. The black back is to protect themselves from aerial predators making it hard to see them against the dark background (the sea) and their white underside to avoid sea predators making it hard to see them blended in with the bright sky!! Also, puffins will ususlly go to locations with an already big colony of puffins because it is safer, so some places may have little to no puffin activity since the puffins will avoid places groups don't go to.

 ACTUALLY!! They did an experiment a few years ago (if im not wrong) where they made puffin statues and placed them there and it later on convicned other puffins to land on the location, hence growing the colony. (If I remember correctly, the puffins started standing on one leg to "impress" the statues since they were held down with a single peg) 

Another cool thing about puffins is their beaks! Its orange, red, or yellow during the summer and spring to help attract mates and during the fall they shed their outer horn like sheath of their breaks and during the winter the smaller dull gray sheath is exposed. And then again during the spring the plates grow back for the next nesting cycle! ^_^
