Queer representation in kids shows

“Queer couples shouldn’t be in kids shows! Queer people shouldn’t be in kids shows! It’s inappropriate!” NO it’s not? It’s better for your kid to learn that being gay, lesbian, bi, trans, etc. is fine than for them to grow up and treat queer people differently. Even more important, if they grow up queer they should know their identity is valid and normal. Whether or not you want to believe it, not seeing a group of certain people can lead to hatred to that group, internalized or not. We need to grow out of this mindset and start treating queerness as just another norm.
