Hello earth!
Today I will be ranking every single Sleeping With Sirens album from With Ears to See and Eyes to Hear to An Ending In Itself!
This is just MY opinion! It is absolutely okay if you think otherwise, and you can leave your thoughts in the comments! I am NOT trying to offend anyone :D
Let's begin!!
8. Dance Gavin Dance Self-Titled (2008)
Just kidding!!
8. Gossip (2017)
This may not come as a surprise, but this is probably my least favorite in the SWS catalog. I love everything else the band has to offer, but this album lacks the dynamic energy you feel from every other album. I have no problem with any band shifting their sound and experimenting more, but the tracks in here don't really resonate with me that well and aren't that memorable to me. I'm not just an old man saying that "I just prefer SWS's heavier music," but I wish this had the same passion I felt in their other records. I appreciate the band for stepping out of their comfort zone, but for now, this is the weakest album.
Favorite Song: Legends
7. Complete Collapse (2022)
This album was inspired by the COVID-19 pandemic, and the tracks fit the theme very well. Here, the band returns to their traditional hardcore roots, while mixing in more modern instrumentation in tracks like Tyrants and Family Tree. You also hear a lot of metalcore influences in the tracks as well. And then you have REALLY great features here, like Spencer from Underoath and Royal & The Serpent. Kellin's vocals are still as versatile as ever, which makes the songs feel even more exciting!
A nitpick I have with this album is that some of the songs, like "Us" featuring Dorothy, followed a predictable structure that didn't help them stand out as much as I would have liked them to. But overall, it was a great listen!
Favorite Song: Complete Collapse
6. How It Feels To Be Lost (2019)
Oh BOY, this is probably the heaviest album that SWS has ever delivered since With Ears To See, and it absolutely slams. This record came after Gossip, which made it feel even nicer when the band returned to their heavier sound. Not only that, I love the lyrics in some of the songs and how personal they feel since Kellin (who was in his blonde era) wanted to capture his mental health at the time. It reminds me of earlier records like Let's Cheers To This a bit. The in-your-face aggressiveness of the tracks (like in Break Me Down) really elevates the album as a whole!
I unfortunately wouldn't say this is better than their other albums, but this one still holds up as a great listen!!
Favorite Song: Medicine (Devil in My Head) and close 2nd is Leave It All Behind
5. Feel (2013)
This album definitely FEELS unique compared to their other work. I love how the band transitioned to a cleaner sound, but it doesn't take away from the songs at all. Every song here feels very energetic, catchy, and an absolute joyride to listen to.
This was also the record when SWS really began to experiment with newer sounds (like the rapping in Alone, which is actually a great song and mgk surprisingly sounds great here :D). This record was MEMORABLE, and even though it had (and still has) its haters, I love how it proved the band was willing to evolve.
Favorite Song: Free Now (I love the lyrics and they remind me of a Trophy Father's Trophy Son, and Alone is still great!)
4. An Ending In Itself (2026)
I may be falling victim to recency bias again, but this album caught me by surprise when it was released a few months ago. It actually SLAPS.
One thing I appreciate is how listening to it made me feel like I was back in the early days of the band. The record feels like Let's Cheers and With Ears To See, but with a more evolved, mature sound. This may also be because the band returned to Rise Records, but those are just my thoughts. The last two albums before this had darker themes, but this album provoked a sense of closure and perseverance that's very unique.
You have great tracks like Forever/Always, House of Matches, heavier tracks like Paralyzed, and songs with great choruses like An Ending In Itself.
I have very few complaints about this record, and it was AMAZING to listen to. I hope the band grows even more from here!!
Favorite Song: Waiting For You (and Forever/Always)
3. Madness (2015)
Madness is definitely more poppy compared to their other albums, but it executes it in a way that feels fresh and unique. It's definitely not as heavy, but you have really catchy tracks like Go, Go, Go and Save Me A Spark that really stand out.
Even though the record is softer than the ones before it, Kellin's vocals really suit the tracks here and don't feel out of place at all. This album feels awesome to relisten to and really elevates the band, in my opinion!
It was difficult deciding between this one and An Ending In Itself, but I think Madness has the edge slightly. I may change my mind later!!
Favorite Song: Kick Me
2. With Ears To See And Eyes to Hear (2010)
What else do I even have to say? This album is a certified hood classic.
It's amazing how this was the band's VERY FIRST record, and it absolutely changed the game. This was a defining part of the 2010s post-hardcore scene that still holds up amazingly to this day.
The tracks here feel so raw and passionate, in songs like In Case of Emergency and You Kill Me. You also have softer tracks like Let Love Bleed Red, which add much more variety. Obviously, the standouts here are If I'm James Dean, You're Audrey Hepburn, and The Bomb Dot Com V2.0, but every other track is also amazing!
I have nothing else to say, just a SPECTACULAR ALBUM. But there is an album that's better...
Favorite Song: Let Love Bleed Red (and also If I'm James Dean)
1. Let's Cheers To This (2011)
This is the band's MOST ICONIC album and for good reason. This came out after With Ears To See, and somehow the band got EVEN BETTER.
Every track on here feels awesome to listen to. You get the post-hardcore sound, along with more poppy elements, with soft and heavy elements in between. The songwriting by both Kellin and ex-member Jesse Lawson here is the best I've heard from the band, and every track feels incredibly passionate and emotional in ways I can't really put into words XD
Besides With Ears To See, this album has the most iconic and memorable lyrics, music videos, presentation, everything!
I have nothing else to say. This will forever be the hardest record to top for the band, and it has been for over a decade now!!
Favorite Song: Do It Now Remember It Later (why is this song so catchy??)

And that is it! Goodnight guys!
