i fucking hate when people are into retrogaming, old tech, physical media, (etc.) for the aesthetic. but don't actually listen to their cds, play their old videogames, or use their old technology. it's the reason everything is so expensive. because, let's be honest, most people who actually want to play retrogames, just emulate them. i love having my old technology to play my old games, but it's because i actually like playing the games and it's an extension of the fact that i like old games. not because "this is so retro and y2k xP!" like be fucking for real </3

I love using all my physical media, I am just sad when it stops working
if you have a disc drive for your laptop you can rip your cds!!! i have digital copies of most of my cds (i'm working on ripping them all)
you should do it in .flac though for the best sound quality! i can send you some tutorials and things if you need :)

OMG YESSS!!!! i hate those videos on youtube where the person has a bunch of 3ds/psp/ipods yadayada, it would make sense if you buy to fix it yk? but i dont think you should hold on to them just because you can... since every 3ds you have means less on the market therefore making them way more expensive then they should be. I really want a 3ds to play games on since i dont like to play on my phone, i get distracted easily, i like the idea of device to do something especifc (listen to music, write, paint, play games on etc etc) my pc is also cant emulate for some reason which makes me sad </3
this is actually why i turned my old phone into a music player!!!! i like having dedicated devices for things (cuts out distractions)
also for 3ds, i think the cheapest options are japanese 3ds, but i don't know for certain.. if you get one you can mod it and play english games (if you prefer)

nono i totally get it😭😭 i can't afford a 3ds at all either sadly i got both mine (that i do use) as gifts. last time i looked the japanese ones were just cheaper so that's why i was suggesting it

Id agree mostly that everyone who wants to play retro fames emulates it. But people do truely love that older tech. Theyd rather play games on a real Nintendo Wii then emulate because the Wii can better provide those mition control experiences as ibtended then a pc ever could replicate. (i get its not as rerto but just to point that emulation doesnt accurately run everything well.)
I actually went and get a ds lite specifically to enjoy playing it.
Many modern setuod still struggle to run ds games. So i can justify still owning a ds lite. Etc etc. Since its one of the few older consoles that run better on original hardware.
3ds/ds games glich so easily on mobile. i was trying to re-play style savvy ds and for some reason a screen got stuck on some editing stuff and couldnt get fixed. i got so pissed dude

yea i have a couple 3ds (one modded and one stock) that i use and a crt and shit that i use. i'm not saying people shouldn't like having the physical hardware, because i do. i don't think the people who buy old consoles and stuff as an aesthetic thing/status symbol should have them though. they're meant to be used and just having them to stare at is stupid

Like dont buy onevjust as a prop. Esesntially. The good mews you can usualky tell kf someone geneuly cares about that product. If not, ask them and judge thevway they talk about it. Do they talk about their experiences and what they personally did with it or do they sound like a wikapedia article or a wiki and discuss nothing but documented history on the internet they could had coppied and pasted.

Right. I use to play much ps2 and Xbox 360 and Wii games. Which most of these games would require actual knowledge from playing them. Which would mean just having an empty console on displsy alone woulrnt be enough. Wouldn't there however be a chance that someone would both play and display that they own a game console. So purely you could just ask said person "what exactly were your experiences playing that *console. As this would direct them to tell you specific games and help you better conect. I do think if you strese over soecific games on older consoled that can lower an already small barier. Aim to get a list from them of whatever gamss they might had played on it in experience.
