Recording studio August '26 Pt.1

Hey blog, 

I have had a busy day! Today I went to a recording studio in Haggerston called Bear Bites Horse with my band. we were supposed to get there at 9:45 am which would normally be super easy to reach... but recently i've ruined my sleep schedule by staying up all night and going to bed in the mid morning. I had told myself (and you guys on here) that i would try to get a reasonable night's sleep last night but i was so worried that i would stay up all night that i accidentally did 😅... i headed out on the overground line to the studio and bumped into a friend from. uni at the station which was nice (it was also kind of me to not mention that he still owes me £20 >:( ...   )

when i got there i saw our drummer parking his car out the back and our singer opening the gate to let us in. we met the producer, a lovely guy named Wayne and we put our stuff down in the live room.

we first started by tracking our drums while also recording some rough guitar + bass tracks through amp sims.

while Wayne was mixing the drum sound I had a wander around the studio and found a Gameboy Advance with Mario Kart: Super Circuit on it and we all had a turn racing around on it before it was my turn to track bass. it was so much fun picking out pedals and amps to build my tone :D i had found the sound i had wanted to use but the band ultimately decided it was too violent to use on the songs >:3, here's a photo of my pedals and their settings:

After bass had been recorded for both songs, we went on break for lunch where we ran into the CUTEST CAT EVERRR!!! :3 

once we had finished eating and had come back to the studio we went on to record guitar, we quad tracked one of the songs until our time had run out for the day, we'll be back tomorrow! I'll keep you updated and edit a compilation of videos we took over both days eventually :) here's the guitarists pedalboard, we only need to record guitars for the second song and vocal tomorrow, then it'll be ready to mix and master!! I'm so excited ^_^
