rejecting modern internet week #3

hey,

got my ttgo t display yesterday around noon (it comes with an ips screen, esp32 board, bluetooth and wifi modules built in) and honestly what you can do with it is totally up to your imagination. my original plan was just to play gifs on it and print a retro crt monitor style 3d case for it. then i ended up connecting it to docker on my server and turned it into a quick health check tool for my microservices. i even attached an arcade button to trigger emergency service restarts, which was absurdly fun.

after that bmo from adventure time came to mind and i stayed up all night coding it. it was tracking my cursor, reacting to whatever song i was listening to (it literally called a sad song super cheerful once), and doing network monitoring where if it detected clients with strong rssi signals nearby it would squint its eyes and say someone is around. unfortunately my hardware wasn't really enough to get decent results with ollama qwen 4b. and i really don't want to use cloud ai.

bmo

so bmo got pushed aside for now and i just finished writing an rss reader instead. added a few of my favorite websites. feels like it's gonna come in handy during my journey of rejecting the modern internet.

rss reader

i'm fairly new to esp32 so if anyone is into this stuff or working on similar projects i'm totally open to swapping ideas and knowledge.
