In the show shameless. Frank Gallagher is one of the main characters who has a drinking problem. I think he would of been a good father if it weren't for his drinking problem. Because whenever he doesn't drink he acts much better. If only he wasn't such a selfish character though

i totally agree with this!!! i think he wouldve been SUCH a great father if it werent for all of his problems. its so sad that he chose to continue the cycle of not growing up in a great home, especially how it seems like he is the only one of his siblings that abuses his kids. i literally tear up every time i watch one of the episodes where he actually acts like a father or gives his kids real advice...
like the episode where he has to stay sober to win money?? he hangs out with everyone and they all have such a great time until eventually he had to start drinking again... :(
OR, how he is with franny? we can all agree that hes a better grandparent than he is a parent. i loved seeing his bond with her and how he actually seemed to like her
